Stockings and Suspender Belts
Stockings require suspender belts, or garter belts, to keep them in place around your thighs. Suspender belts were invented in the 1920s to hold up stockings in a time when elastic wasn’t invented yet. This classic favorite is popular because it can be worn for a sexy, flirtatious or empowering look. Black stockings with matching suspender belts are still one of the most popular styles although fashion stockings are on the rise and bridal stockings are perfect for the big day and your honeymoon.

Stay Ups
Stay ups are much simpler and easier to wear than stockings with suspender belts because they have elasticized bands at the top along with silicone on the inside of the bands. Without the suspender belts, it’s important to find the right style and fit for you since this determines how well they stay up on your thigh and how comfortable they are without creating any pinching. For many tight-fitting dresses or skirts, stay ups are preferable to avoid any visible ‘suspender bumps.’

How to put on Stockings with Suspender Belts
- Attach the suspender belt around your lower waist (above your underwear) with the hook and eye closures, much like a bra.
- Roll up your stockings and slide them over your leg. Pull them up to upper-mid thigh area.
- Adjust the length of your suspender belts with the ones at the back being the longest and the ones at the front the shortest. This gives you room to bend over and sit down comfortably.
- Attach the suspenders to your stockings with the clasps. Each clasp has a rubber nub and a metal piece that fits over it. To attach, put the rubber nub underneath the top edge of the stocking, about one inch down. Slide the metal clasp over the nub, then pull up so the nub slides into place. Repeat with the remaining clasps around the belt and adjust the lengths of the suspenders as needed.

How to Put on Stay Ups
- Avoid putting on any body lotions, oils and talcum powder before wearing your stay ups as this affects the silicone grip.
- Put them on by turning the top band over so that the silicone is facing out. Roll the stay ups and slide them over your legs. Once they are in position mid thigh, flip the band over and smooth the silicone onto the leg.
